Blanco, Texas duo “Him & Her” is a bluesy, jazzy, folksy band playing original music, featuring singer-songwriter Brenda Freed on vocals, and guitar or piano, and Michael D’Eath on harmonica. They’ve been performing together for over twenty years, and even longer as solo artists. Their latest release, “Do Texas Women” celebrates songs written by women in Texas and beautifully highlights their amazing connection to their home state. The production is top-notch, and Brenda’s soothing and soul-filled vocals will leave you wanting more and more.
I’m thrilled to be one of the co-writers of “One Person”, which is included on the CD. ‘One Person’ actually has four writers, four women, each with a strong belief that ‘to change the world’ requires passion, courage, and diligence. Rosa Parks was such a woman, and today she still inspires us to take action that can make a difference for the many. Together, Brenda Freed, Teresa Kenas, Jean Synodinos and me, hope that ‘one song’ can make a difference too.
