“Peace Date” was inspired by an experience I had walking down the street in Cape Town, South Africa this past January. I saw a street vendor singing and smiling, obviously so happy that I had to engage him. I asked what he was singing about and he pointed to the sky saying, “We are light in the darkness.” Nur and I took it from there. Nur Felix is an incredible songwriter/artist from Cape Town and I was honoured to co-write this song with him. Help us spread the message around the world.
You can also buy the MP3 – and when you do, every single penny raised will go towards helping Nur finish recording his CD. Follow this link to donate: http://moonlitpond.com/peace-date

Just a hop, skip and jump to the other side of the continent with guitar in hand and songs to sing. Please pass along word of these shows to your friends and relatives in the San Francisco area. Laura Zucker is a fabulous singer/songwriter and I’m thrilled to be sharing these shows with her.

The Kelly Girls are polishing up the fiddle and banjo – and all the other instruments too – and breaking out your favourite St Patrick’s Day tunes. On Thursday, March 17th, you’ll find us at Finnegan’s Pub in Hudson, MA. We’ll start the party at 12:00 Noon and play through until 11:00 p.m. Yup. All day. Come sing along, have a pint and some Irish grub. Gonna be a heck of a good time.
The South West Regional Folk Alliance Conference is just around the corner and I’m excited to be on the Official line up at the gathering. Along with being an Alternate Official Showcase Artist, I will present a seminar entitled, “Envisioning the Life You Want” on Friday morning, and I’ll offering individual coaching sessions throughout the conference. Late night showcasing is also on the agenda! Wish me luck!

First stop on Nancy’s CD Release Tour? TEXAS!!! Friends and fans in the Great Lone State will have first dibs on “South Branch Road” – hot off the press, this collection weaves stories of her youth into lush songs of life experience, familial history, and good-humored folly. Blending brave and honest songwriting, first-rate musicianship, and a huge helping of native Canadian wit, Nancy Beaudette is an artist of songs and heart. Be sure to catch one of these shows!

I meet the most wonderful people when I’m on the road. Last winter, I had the pleasure of spending a weekend with Jim and Lynna Woosley when I was a guest facilitator at Woodsong Farm Songwriters Retreat in Georgia. Jim and Lynna host a house concert series at their home in Petersburg, Indiana and graciously invited me to perform there on Saturday, September 21st. So tomorrow morning, I’m boarding a plane with guitar and merch and heading to the mid west? I think Indiana is mid-west???
Next stop Austin Texas. This will be my third time touring in Texas, but my first stop to this iconic music city. The PBS show Austin City Limits put this town on my radar decades ago, and I’m already pinching myself knowing I’ll be performing there. I’ll take the stage Friday, Sept 27th at the New World Deli along with songwriters Beth Lee and Teresa Neal. Very exciting:)
SWRFA – South Western Regional Folk Alliance Conference is also happening in Austin at the end of September, and I’ll be networking and showcasing my wares to savvy entertainment connoisseurs in the region. I got fancy postcards and business cards printed for the occasion:) Back to my packing!

My good friend and co-writer, Natasha Borzilova, played a show at the famed Rutledge, one of Nashville’s premier live music venues, on July 22. She graciously invited me on stage to sing “Dust”, a song we wrote together. Enjoy!
