These next few days hold a rare and beautiful convergence. A new moon. An annular solar eclipse with a ring of fire in the sky. The beginning of the Lunar New Year which is the Year of the Fire Horse. The beginning of Ramadan. Ash Wednesday and the season of Lent. Rosh Chodesh Adar on the Hebrew calendar.
Different traditions. Different languages. Different prayers. And yet they are all pointing toward reflection, renewal, intention, and new beginnings.
The new moon whispers: begin again.
The eclipse reminds us that even when the light is partially hidden, it is never gone. Ramadan and Lent invite devotion, discipline, and compassion. The Year of the Fire Horse invites courage, bold movement, and heart-forward action. Adar reminds us to increase joy.
What if we didn’t need to belong to every tradition to honor the wisdom in each one? What if this is simply a collective invitation to reset?
To soften what has hardened.
To release what has expired.
To choose again with clarity.
To begin again with intention.
However you mark these days, I wish you:
Happy New Moon.
Happy New Year.
Happy Holy Season.
Happy Reset.
Happy Everything.
