“Peace Date” was inspired by an experience I had walking down the street in Cape Town, South Africa this past January. I saw a street vendor singing and smiling, obviously so happy that I had to engage him. I asked what he was singing about and he pointed to the sky saying, “We are light in the darkness.” Nur and I took it from there. Nur Felix is an incredible songwriter/artist from Cape Town and I was honoured to co-write this song with him. Help us spread the message around the world.
You can also buy the MP3 – and when you do, every single penny raised will go towards helping Nur finish recording his CD. Follow this link to donate: http://moonlitpond.com/peace-date

Jon Pappalardo was in the audience at our recent show and wrote a wonderful review of our performance. It’s so nice to hear praise and kind words for our efforts. Thanks Jon!
“I’ve been a fan of Beaudette’s music for a few years now but I’d yet to see her live until this April 23 concert. I had a feeling the show would be special; her latest album South Branch Road is exquisite, but I didn’t know how far it would exceed my expectations.”
“The cultural immersion kicked into high gear when The Kelly Girls took the stage in the second half. The four-piece Celtic band, of which Beaudette is a part along with Christine Hatch, Aisling Keating and Theresa Gerene, performed songs that traversed centuries, generations and even ancestry.
Their set was richly layered with historical significance and a captivating approachability. They opened strong, with their tight harmonies giving way to infectious fiddle-drenched instrumentation.”
“I came away having witnessed a unique bond between friends making music simply out of passion for the art. The Kelly Girls, the epitome of a tightly in synch ensemble, left me in the best possible place – wanting more and more. If you ever get a chance to see them live, hopefully accompanied with a Beaudette solo set, I’m sure you’ll come away feeling exactly as I did that evening. Make it a point to seek out a performance; I know for sure you won’t regret it.”

Award winning Canadian singer and songwriter, Nancy Beaudette, and writer and playwright, Paula Castner, have combined their talents to produce a whimsical play about teenage angst and the role of choices. Ebullient, thoughtful songs and embellished, realistic characters make for an entertaining amalgamation.
Four high school students – Josh, Marissa, Brian, and Kelly – wrestle with dating, making friends, desires versus limitations, and self-esteem. All the while, the Fairy Godmother has brought the Evil Queen to watch the teenage dramas unfold as part of the Evil Queen’s rehabilitation for putting Snow White to sleep. Josh, Marissa, Brian, and Kelly wish their lives could match the fairy tales they grew up listening to, and the Evil Queen blames Snow White for all her problems. How all five come to learn lessons about living will regale audiences of all ages.

The Kelly Girls are polishing up the fiddle and banjo – and all the other instruments too – and breaking out your favourite St Patrick’s Day tunes. On Thursday, March 17th, you’ll find us at Finnegan’s Pub in Hudson, MA. We’ll start the party at 12:00 Noon and play through until 11:00 p.m. Yup. All day. Come sing along, have a pint and some Irish grub. Gonna be a heck of a good time.
The South West Regional Folk Alliance Conference is just around the corner and I’m excited to be on the Official line up at the gathering. Along with being an Alternate Official Showcase Artist, I will present a seminar entitled, “Envisioning the Life You Want” on Friday morning, and I’ll offering individual coaching sessions throughout the conference. Late night showcasing is also on the agenda! Wish me luck!
The 16th Annual Southwest Regional Folk Alliance Conference will be in Austin, Texas, Sept 23 – 27, 2015. Nancy has been selected to perform an Official Alternates Showcase on Thursday night in front of the entire conference. SWRFA exists to nurture, engage and empower the international folk music community — traditional and contemporary, amateur and professional — through education, advocacy and performance. Nancy will also facilitate a Career Mapping workshop at the conference.
